CHAPTER 07: Yadaan teriyaan...
Lavanya sat with Anjali, Aman, Akash, Payal, Yuvi and Mayuri in Anjali’s cabin still shell shocked of what she heard and saw in Khushi’s cabin. Others were also shocked and having hard time believing Arnav moved on with Khushi as somewhere they were firm on the believe that Arnav was doing all this to make Lavanya jealous and out anger of what happen all those years back.
Aman spoke: “I still can’t believe that Arnav has really moved in his life.”
Anjali angrily: “It’s all that Khushi’s fault, I’m sure she has trapped him in fake web of so-called love... Why the hell did she ever came?!”
Payal said gulping almost scared: “RV was so damn angry, I wonder how Arnav was when he had met him after the whole fiasco?!”
Akash rubbed his wife’s shoulder in comforting way said: “It’s okay, don’t worry so much.”
Payal worried replied: “You’re not getting it Akash, RV has always been very protective of Arnav and the way he is angry with us I don’t think he’ll ever let him near us.”
Mayuri being the rebellious one like always angrily: "Arey! What do you mean by he won’t let us near Arnav... uski toh main...”
Yuvi held his wife trying to calm her: “Mayu chill yaar. And Payal calm down we’ll think of something on how to get Arnav back.”
Anjali too said: “Yeah, Arnav has to be back in our gang and most importantly to Lav. Khushi is an obstacle between Arnav and Lavanya which I’m going to throw away one or the other.” determination reflecting in her voice.
All this while Lavanya sat silent, lost in her world and too caught up in her own thoughts to say something, she was still in shock to say anything. Her mind reeled over what she saw today and the past she had once shared with Arnav, trying to understand how he can get over her when he had loved her so much, Lavanya’s thoughts went back to the initial days when she had met Arnav for the first time.
EIGHT YEARS EARLIER...
It was a bright Monday morning and first day of Lavanya’s internship and usually always-punctual Lavanya Gupta was getting late today. No scratch that, she was extremely late. She had to reach G.K. Construction which was almost 45 minutes away from her house in Vasant Vihar but due to the office hour traffic, it was taking even more time. It her first day for Christ sake and though her father is owner of the company she can’t be late on first day. And oh no! She was so late!
Lavanya was speeding to cross a signal, hoping to beat the red light, so that she wouldn't have to waste another five minutes waiting for it to turn green again. She had almost reached G.K. Construction - it would take her about ten minutes more. And then crash! She had banged her car into a expensive sports bike ahead of her which that had braked suddenly though it wasn’t suddenly as it stopped because the single went red but since so caught up in her own thoughts she hasn’t seen either one of that.
“Oh God!! Why now??!!” she thought and got of her silver Audi as she came out of her car and looked at the front portion to see the damage. She is getting bloody late and here, this bloody idiot of a driver had broken her headlight!
She angrily looked in front of her called out: “Hey You! Can’t you see, my car’s headlights are broken because of you!” getting ready for an argument with the bike-rider.
Lavanya’s eyes still spitting fire as she saw the tall guy wearing dark jeans, brown shoes and black riding leather-jacket get down of his bike then turn to her and take off his helmet revealing his handsome face. For a moment Lavanya got lost seeing the handsome man in front of her, he was fair complexion like British with jet-black hair with few falling on his forehead and most beautiful silver-grey eyes also his M-shape lips looked pink and only soft feature of his otherwise masculine look with light stubble.
The guy looked at her one than glanced at his broken back-light and then looked up at her said in accented English: “Oh hello Miss, you broke my bike’s back-light... can’t YOU see?!”
Lavanya quickly got out of admiring the stranger to back in angry mode remembering the whole reason of why she got down of her car angrily retorted: “Dude, you suddenly put break which caused the accident.”
The guy replied: “Lady I didn’t put sudden breaks, you weren’t paying enough attention on the road which you should have...”
Lavanya angrily: “How dare you put the blame on me! Apologize to me right now...” the argument quickly turned into a more heated one.
The guy looked at her: “Apologize... for what?”
Lavanya: “For breaking my headlight, obviously and hurry up I’m getting late.”
The guy said: “Really now? You should be the one apologizing not me and hurry up I’m getting late too...”
Lavanya now getting furious all the more: “The audacity you have! This was your fault, you put sudden break and now you’re asking me to apologize...”
The guy arched one brow in very sexy manner asked: “Who gave you driving license lady? Can’t you see it’s a red signal and when it’s red signal you’re suppose stop. Hence like normal person I stopped and it was you who wasn’t paying enough attention...”
Hearing that Lavanya looked ahead to see the signal and she was embarrassed as it was clear it was her fault but her pride didn’t let her admit that. She held her head high saying: “So, it’s your fault you should have made a signaled before stopping.” even she knew she sounded stupid, but she wasn't going say sorry.
The guy looked with unbelievable look which said ‘Are-you-stupid?’ and Lavanya looked around noticed the crowd that had gathered around, and also became aware of the jam they were creating.
But Lavanya was a woman who didn’t bend down easily; even if it was her mistake. Hence the blame is of the bike-rider and he better apologize to her was what she thought. People had started grumbling about the chaos created and now this handsome man had been continuously annoying her with his back-answering.
Finally frustrated she asked: “Okay, how much money do you want?” wanting to get over with it but still wasn’t ready to apologize.
The guy looked at her indulgently titling his head said: “You think I’m arguing with you for money lady? Well I don’t want your money as it isn’t the question... the real think is about accepting mistake, which is yours her.”
Lavanya stubbornly: “I’m not apologizing, just tell me your amount and I’ll pay.” holding her head high.
The guy looked at her said: “No thank you lady I don’t need your money. But you know what I don’t have... that is wasting my time arguing with you when it’s clear that it is YOUR fault, which you can’t clearly be seen admitting it.”
The guy turned around and got on his bike put on his helmet, ignited he engine and drove off as the signal has turned green quite a while ago. Lavanya stood there watching him zoom off and was brought out of her zoned out state by the honking of other vehicles, so quickly got in her car and drove to G.K. Construction fast remembering she is late but this time paying more attention to the road.
-----------------------------------
The black-red Kawasaki Ninja 1000 stopped parking of the large office building in front and got down removing his helmet. He quickly removed his black-leather jacket and put in the storage space taking his navy-blue blazer wore it. He locked his bike and taking his laptop-bag walked in the building as the guard held the door open.
He went to the reception where a young girl dressed in formal wear was engrossed in her work of typing something in the computer. So he politely called for attention: “Excuse me, can you please tell me where the Architect interns have to report?”
The girl looked up to see the Greek-god of a man in jeans and navy-blue blazer with white button-down shirt and his hair jet-black-hair perfectly gelled standing in front of her and was totally lost checking him, hence stared at him without answering and the guy again questioned: “Excuse me, can you please tell me to whom the interns have to report?”
The receptionist came out of her drooling session, blushed feeling embarrassed replied: “Ah sorry... you have to report to Epshita ma’am. Her cabin is on 19th floor, third cabin from right and the elevators are that way.” Pointing towards the direction the elevators were.
The guy smiled at her said: “Thank you, beautiful” turning around to leave but not before giving her a wink and charming smile making the girl spoon over it.
Following the directions he came in front a cabin which had a name plate of ‘Epshita K. Mehra, C.I.O. of G.K. Constructions’ and he swiftly knocked on the door. Hearing a feminine stern voice said from inside: “Come in”
He opened the door and walked in saying: “Good morning ma’am” looking at the lady in formal white blouse with black pencil-skirt and her black coat draped on the headrest of her chair she was sitting in front of him.
She looked at him from her file asked: “Yes?”
The guy introduced himself saying: “Hello ma’am, I’m Arnav Raizada... new intern here.”
Epshita said: “Oh, well you’re late Mr. Raizada but I’m excusing you this time because I know you are not from India let alone Delhi. So you have no idea about the routes here, if I’m not wrong?”
Arnav nodded replying: “I’m really sorry for being late; I had no idea about the routes here and how much time it takes. But don’t worry I won’t be late from tomorrow as now I’m getting better idea of the route and time it takes.”
Epshita getting up from her chair said: “Come I’ll introduce you to other interns and show you around here.” walking ahead as he followed her silently.
They went to the elevators as she pressed the 18th floor button and after few moments the door opened as they walked and passed a reception desk. Epshita told pointing at the area: “This is the reporting area for you interns to report at morning 09:00 AM and I’ll be assigning you the projects you interns would be working on.”
Arnav nodded acknowledgment responded with: “Yes ma’am”
Epshita continued walking to the corridor saying: “This is where the interns have their cabins since you all are in Architect and Interior designer interns’ team. And this is your cabin...” opening the door of the second cabin right-hand side of the cabin and both entered as Arnav looked around as she continued speaking “...there are five interns with you right now, four architects and one in interior designer intern. There are three more interns who are yet to join within coming two month.”
Arnav nodded when she looked at in as she told him: “Keep your bag here; I’ll introduce you with the other interns.”
As told he kept his bag on the desk and followed after her walking in first cabin beside his right hand side was a young tall man in blue shirt with specs who stood up seeing them and Epshita introduced them: “This is Akash Khurana and Akash this is Arnav Raizada.., he’ll be intern with you guys.”
Both the men formally shake hands greeting each other warmly, after that Epshita walked out with Arnav following taking to third cabin i.e. is the cabin after his and walking in was another handsome tall guy in black suit with black shirt with curly hair also stood up seeing Epshita and was introduced to Arnav as Samar Khurana. Both greeted each other smiling warmly.
Samar asked curiously hearing the accent in Arnav’s voice: “Are you not Indian?”
Arnav smilingly replied: “I’m Indian but I’m born and brought up in England.”
Samar: “So first visit to India?”
Arnav: “Yeah and I don’t know Hindi at all.”
Samar: “Don’t worry you’ll get it soon.”
Than Epshita took him to meet other two interns who were Aman Mathur, sort of a comic character which he found funny and Anjali Gupta, very confident beautiful lady; whom he found a bit too arrogant and rude but maintained friendly and formal front. They were coming out of Anjali’s cabin when a body collided with Aranv whom he held quickly by shoulder to steady.
The girl in pink anarkali looked saying: “I didn’t see you coming, I’m really sor—” stepping back quickly and removing her hair from her face to see the same guy from the signal as she exclaimed: “YOU?!”
Arnav looked at the same girl from the signal exclaimed at the same time: “YOU?!”
Both looking at each other with wide-eyes as they both never expected to meet again, but as said fate is a very unpredictable thing which no one can ever predict. And it seems fate has stored some very interesting things for them.

Akash rubbed his wife’s shoulder in comforting way said: “It’s okay, don’t worry so much.”
