ARSHI FF: Gustakh Dil... (Stubborn Heart)

CHAPTER 11: Desperate times need desperate measures!

It was almost 07:30 pm as Khushi looked at the clock started pushing Arnav off her, she needs to get up and prepare for dinner and it was getting late. So she started wiggling more getting restless which was starting to annoy Arnav as it was disturbing his ministration. Irritated Arnav said lifting his head from her neck where he was nibbling giving her hickeys: “Stop wiggling so much, you are disturbing me!”

Khushi: “Get off me Arnav, I’ve dinner to make and it’s getting late. Please hato na”

Arnav: “Arre yaar, why do you need to cook? There are so many servants here for that.” looking at her lovely face as he brushed a lock of hair behind her ear.

Khushi replied: “That was before you and Akashji got married, now there are two new daughter-in-laws in this house have and it’s our duty that is what I have been taught since child. Now let me go and dress up” wiggling more restlessly but she giggled due to his stubble tickling her.

But seeing in him in no mood of letting her go rather he tighten his hold to keep her in place, Khushi stopped wiggling and wrapped her arms around his neck. Arnav smirked smugly thinking she gave up and bend up to capture her rosy lips and he was just inches away from her lips as his hold on her loosen of which taking advantage Khushi pushed him off her, which took him off-guard as he fell off her and she quickly wrapped sheet around her bolted to washroom leaving a stunted Arnav behind on bed.

Arnav recovered from him shock and rush to washroom door knocking furiously shouting: “Mishti open the door, I’m warning you it won’t be good for you when you come out. Khushi open the door!!”

All he got in response were sounds of her laughter which despite everything brought content feeling to him that she is happy with him. Khushi replied from other side of door: “Sorry Arnav, but you weren’t letting me go and it’s getting late I had to do something. Now let me take a quick shower I need to prepare dinner also.”

Arnav shook his head and picked his discarded trouser wearing it quickly, started fixing their bed and picked his scattered clothes. He was about to pick Khushi’s sari when the bathroom door opened and she came out wearing a white fluffy bathrobe and motioned him to go freshen up as she herself picked up her scattered cloths, smiling at her Arnav pecked at her cheek went to take quick shower. Khushi gathered her blouse and petticoat, blouse and sari wearing them again. She stood in front of mirror of dressing table but looking at her reflection she groaned frustrated knowing she couldn’t wear them because of all the hickeys Arnav has given her, especially on her waist and making a face now that she has to change this sari, cursing Arnav.

Arnav came out of bathroom with towel wrapped at that moment to see his Mishti standing in front of dressing table making cute faces and felt his desires spike up seeing her delectable self in that red sari with blouse held by two dories at back and her slim wait in display. He made way to her and slipped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her right shoulder said huskily: “Do you have any idea how edible you look right now, Mishti? I just wanna eat you up.” Bit her shoulder softly as her looked at her expression on mirror reflection.

Khushi glared at him through mirror and angrily huffed replying: “Look at what have you done, I can’t wear this sari anymore with all these marks, especially on my waist and back. Move aside now I’ve to change again in something to hide these” pushing his arms off her, giving him one last glare she hurried to the walk-in wardrobe to look for something suitable to wear which could hide the love bites.

Arnav felt dumb-folded at her and shaking his head went to dress up wearing his earlier cloths. As he slipped his jacket on and saw the closet door open as now dressed in another red sari with black border and black halter blouse with silver rose design, her long curly hair in designer bun and he was again wanted to take her to bed and never leave the room. Khushi walked to dresser and checked herself, quickly applied lipstick and satisfied with herself smiled brightly.
KHUSHI'S SARI AND LOOK

She saw Arnav’s expression through mirror said sternly: “Don’t even think about it, itni mushkil se yeh sari mili and I’ve dinner to make, please it’s getting late. Koi badmaashi nahi abhi please...”

Arnav pouted at been turned down and Khushi kept her lip-gloss down walked up to him side hugged him saying: “Stop sulking Jaan, we spend time na. And understand please I’m not your wife but Daughter-in-law of this family, I’ve some responsibilities and I’ve dinner to make, please”

He nodded obediently and leaned down to kiss her but she leaned back saying: “Lip-gloss would get messed, so no kiss now.”

Stepped back making way out of room pulling a still sulking more Arnav because he didn’t even get his kiss. Reaching downstairs she looked at his sulking face hugged saying: “Please don’t be a kid now, we did spend our fair share and now again, it won’t look good, please samjho na. I promise I’ll make it up to at night, still have the night and tab jitni chahe badmaashi kar lena, I won’t stop you.”

Pulling back looked at his face and Arnav smiled at her with mischief twinkle in eyes said:”Yeah, I’m gonna not gonna leave you and make you pay good...with interest.”

Nuzzling his nose at her check making her giggle as he gave her a peak on her cheek and let her go. Khushi gave him a side hug and made way to kitchen Arnav smiled at her retreating back as she stopped before entering kitchen, turned around as looked around to make sure no one is present and gave Arnav a flying kiss and quickly dashed inside kitchen, while Arnav stood scratching the back of his head grinning even bigger at her antics like love-sick teenager.

Arnav was brought of his beautiful dreamland by the very annoying loud voice of his cousin: “Nannav!”

Arnav barked an irritated: “What?!”

NK in his typical style walked up to his angry cousin putting an arm around his shoulder asked: “Nannav, what were you smiling like that?”

Arnav pushed NK’s arm off him replied annoyed: “None of your business and anyways you won’t understand, so don’t bother!”

NK been the persistent said: “I would understand, Nannav. Tell me, tell me.”

Annoyed Arnav was almost ready to thrown a vase on NK’s head when Aman and Akash walked in throw main door and seeing annoyed Arnav with persisting NK standing in living room, Akash asked: “What is going on here?”

NK-Arnav looked at Akash-Aman making way towards them as NK replied: “That’s what I’m asking Nannav, I came here and saw him smiling alone and when I asked him why was he smiling like that, but he won’t tell me saying I  won’t understand!” complaining to them as Arnav gritted his teeth.

Aman smiled teasingly at Arnav knowing the reason well and said to NK: “NK bro, are you married?”

NK confused replied: “No”

Aman smugly said: “Than you won’t understand, first get married and you’ll know why ASR was smiling like that” eyeing Arnav teasingly.

Arnav made a face at Aman’s teasing look and said irritated: “Are you done with this stupid random talks, than please kindly give the meeting report and you too Akash. Please call Lavanya also and ask her to get the photo shoot file of today’s that she has.”

Arnav made his way to study room with a teasingly smiling Aman who was scolded by irritated Arnav: “Stop smiling like a lunatic, Aman”

Akash was going to call Lavanya but was stopped by still confused NK who asked: “Akash did you understand what Aman said, mujhe sabji (vegetable) nahi aayi”

Akash: “Sabji nahi NK bhai ‘Samjh’. And NK Bhai Aman was right, you won’t understand, so you let it be.” And he went to call Lavanya as Arnav as asked him, leaving behind a so very confused NK scratching his head.

.....................

Khushi entered kitchen and saw HP chopping onions, as smilingly she greeting him asked: “HPji have you gotten the ingredients I gave you list of?”

HP smilingly replied: “Haan Badi Bhabhi, I got everything you asked for and then marinated the meat and fish like you asked. I arranged other ingredients as you asked and chopped the vegetables; just onions were left which I’m doing now.”

Khushi smilingly said: “Thank you”

Khushi took the marinated fish and other necessary ingredients and got into cooking as a curious HP asked: “Bhabhi, what are you making?” as he finished onions and kept the platter on counter beside Khushi and went washing hands.

Khushi smiling replied: “Khud hi dekhiye HPji, can you please knead the floor for me?” Nodding HP took the floor platter and water he needed as he watched Khushi cooking the dishes, also helping her.

After a while HP was going to hand Khushi the container of haldi, when Nani called out for HP and Khushi smilingly motioned him to go as she would handle herself and HP left to see what was he called for. A little later Payal entered the kitchen and saw Khushi preparing dinner as Khushi gave her a polite smile asked: “Kuch chahiye JIji?”

Payal: “Woh Maaji needs green tea and cupcake I came for that” as she started taking out things she needed to make green tea for her Mother-In-Law.

Khushi moved aside giving Payal space to stand near stove were she put the water to boil as continued her work. There was silence between them not knowing to say as Payal observed Khushi and asked confused: “Khushi, weren’t you wearing another red sari this morning? Why did you change?”

Khushi blushed: “Bas aise hi” and focusing on her cooking.

Payal asked: “You never told Khushi that you continued your singing? Vase who did you learn from? Who paid the fees of teacher? How come I never got to know about it?”

Khushi replied trying not to sound rude: “I never left singing, I was taking music lessons from Saat Sur Music Institute, one of most prestigious Music institute of classical and western music in India, in both classical and western singing and instruments and who paid the fees, you’re forgetting Jiji the family I belong...I was a ‘Raichodhary’ before I became a ‘Raizada’. About how come you or anyone from Gupta family never knew, well you know that answer better than me because nobody had time or bothered to know what I was doing till I kept out of troubles and not been trouble for anyone in that house.”

Payal was shocked by Khushi’s reply and she was about to say something but Manorama’s voice came calling for Payal to bring her tea. Khushi motioned Payal who hurriedly pour the tea in cup and took the cupcakes out of fridge and arranged on a tray to take it to her Mother-In-Law. Payal was about to leave kitchen but stopped turning around said to Khushi: “We still have to talk” and left hurriedly as her Mother-In-Law again called for her.

Khushi smiled ruefully at Payal’s retreating back, the conversation brought back many unwanted memories. The memories of years been neglected by Gupta family, scolded for everything by Buaji, how when she asked for something it was mostly refused and if given than it came along how much extra expenditure it was while for Payal no matter how expensive it is, she got it without having ask twice. It’s not the Guptas’ didn’t take care her but it always came with realization that she was orphan and they did her big favour by taking her in, which made her wonder always that if she wasn’t completely welcomed than why did they bothered to take her in, it wasn’t as if she didn’t have anyone else...she had her relatives from her father’s side of family who where more than willing to keep her and loved her so much. The thought brought memories of her real family as she brushed off the tears from her eyes quickly, her family loved her so much and they would never want to see their Titli crying and smiling to herself went back cooking, softly humming one of her favourite Bengali song....

“Alo alo rong jamkalo chand dhuye jai…
Chena sona mukh janasona hath chhuye jai...
Fire fire ghum, ghire ghire gaan rekhe jai…
Kichhu michhu raat pichhu pichu tan deke jai…
Ajo ache gopon….
Ferari mon…
beje gechhe kakhon….
Se telephone…”
[TRANSALATION LYRICS: “The hues of light drape the moon gorgeous,
The acquainted faces touch the known hand,
The lingering slumber surrounds me with its songs -
Those few nights, call me, call me back!!
Still is concealed
The escaping mind -
When has it rung...
That telephone?”]

..............

Anjali walked down the steps looking for Nani whom she needs to talk, after she had that conversation with Shyam made her believe that Khushi indeed was trying to take her brother away from her but she won’t let it happen and make sure that Khushi is thrown out of their life ASAP. Anjali found Nani in her room, feeding her pet goat and smiled as she saw her at door said: “Anjali bitya, come inside.”

Anjali sat down beside Nani who seeing her distressed expression asked with a comforting smile: “Aap yaha humare kamre mein? Kono baat karni hai? Kuch huwa hai kya? Aap pareshaan lag rahi hai...” (You are here in my room? Do you wanna talk about something? Anything happened..? You look upset...)

Anjali replied: “Nani Chotte has changed so much in 02 days span.”

Nani frowned: “Matlab?” (Meaning?)

Anjali: “I mean Chotte was never like this, first he gets married to Khushi by eloping and then the whole drama when he comes with her, he didn’t care that we’re angry from him...he just simply picked her up and carried to his room, without a care for anyone. Than in morning also behaving as if nothing happened and fighting with Lavanya...Mami ko bhi kitna sunna diya. Chotte has changed so much; he just doesn’t seem to see anything beyond Khushi...always 'Khushi I want this', 'Khushi I want that', 'Mishti did you eat something', 'Mishti don’t run so much'...Mishti Mishti Mishti, that’s what he is doing all day. I don’t think Khushi’s intentions are good, she is taking Chotte away from us!”

Nani: “I understand how you are feeling Anjali bitya. But you too have to understand that after marriage it’s husband’s responsibility to look after his bride’s needs and comfort, Chotte married and brought Khushi here, it’s his responsibility to look after her and his responsibility towards her is more than Akash would have towards Payal because he is the only support for her right now. I won’t say that I’m not happy that Chotte married Khushi, but the way got married is what I’m angry...they could have come to us, hum thordi na mana karte and if it was for engagement with Lavanya that stopped them...it wasn’t a big deal, engagement do break and it would have been sorted out. I don’t know why they did what they did, there must be a reason for it, we’ll have to be patient to find it out, but one thing is very clear i.e. Khushi loves Chotte and Chotte too loves her a lot and though I won’t confess in front of them now, but I’m really happy that he married Khushi because he couldn’t have a found better bride for himself than her, khair you don’t stress so much it’s not good for you in this stage.”

Anjali faked a smile said: “Maybe you are right, Nani”

Nani changed the topic asking her about her pregnancy and about Shyam, to take Anjali’s mind off Arnav-Khushi topic, as she could see that Anjali isn’t taking the new changes in Arnav too well, she could understand that Anjali was feeling jealous of Khushi... Till now Anjali was Arnav’s first priority, for him everything came after his Di but now the equation has changed, Khushi has replaced her place in Arnav’s list of priorities and this is what which isn’t settling well with Anjali as she is used of Arnav running after her all the time and not someone else. Hence the jealousy from Khushi now arises for being his first priority, even before this Di and this is what was pricking Anjali even if she herself hadn’t acknowledged in her conscious mind, which Nani’s experienced eyes can see crystal clear.

While Anjali talked to Nani her self-thought was: “Nani, aap kuch bhi kyun na bole but I can see myself that Khushi is trying to take Chotte away from us and I won’t let it happen, I’ll make sure that she is out of Chotte’s life”

...................................

Khushi took out the last batch of fish cutlets from the frying oil and plated them up as she turned the stove off. She had decided to make authentic Bengali cuisine in dinner for Arnav because she knew he didn’t eat lunch properly as the Lucknowi food made by Payal was too spicy for him, so she decided to make nice dinner for him and it’s been a while she ate Bengali food, for which she was craving from sometime. When she was in Lucknow in her growing up years, she had gotten friends with a Bengali girl in her class, Piyali Basu and in those years she had been her best friend, her support and a means to be in touch with her culture. She learned cooking Bengali food from her Thaami’s old diary she had and prepared them at her friend’s house with her friend’s mother help, she never told anyone in Gupta family about Piyali because she knew that if they even got wind of her been friendly with anyone from Kolkata, they would make her break all contacts with them. The Gupta’s has never like her being in contact with anyone even remotely related to that state and that is the reason they never had let her to be in contact with any relative of her father’s side. Her mind played the fond memories of her biological family and smilingly passed the plate to OP to take it for keeping on dining table. She asked OP to help her set the dinner table and HP to call everyone for dinner; he nodded and went to call everyone.

****

It was around 10:00 pm, in study room Arnav was wrapping up a video conference he was having with a German client along with Akash, Aman and Lavanya accompanying him but everyone had his or her mind somewhere else. When Aman was giving presentation Arnav was lost in thoughts of his cute Mishti Biwi...her rosy soft skin, her silky lush chestnut long hair, her beautiful twinkling violet eyes dark with passion, her breathy moans of his name. In short he was having the most scandalous thought anyone could have in meeting and all in that moment he wanted was to go to his Mishti more than anything but here he was stuck with a bunch of snobby fat German oldies were chewing his brains. And top of that Aman never missed to give him sublet teasing looks and knowing-all-too-well smiles as to where his mind was which annoyed him more but he couldn’t say anything as his wife had asked him to be nice and how can the cute adorable obedient husband that he is disobey his wife. So he as grumpily he took all teasing smiles of Aman but missing his Mishti and very much looking forward to finish the meeting.

All teasing aside Aman was really happy to see his best friend / boss so happy, he has never seen Arnav so relaxed and contented ever, send God a silent prayer to keep him this happy always. Other side Lavanya felt miserable, seeing Arnav lost in thoughts of Khushi while his open expression of how unwelcomed she was and only tolerating her for professionalism’s sake. Seeing all the teasing looks Aman gave ASR, only added to her pain and cursing Khushi more in her mind for stealing ASR from her which she promised to herself that she would take back. Akash on other hand didn’t notice anything because he has too much in his plate with how to handle Payal and his mother, though Payal never complained but he could see the expectation in her eyes for him to stand up for her like Arnav defended Khushi, but he wasn’t brave as his Bhai and to handle his Mother and Wife diplomatically was getting tough for him.

Arnav finalising the deal and with greeting farewell to the clients as the conference ended and webcam was turned off, came a knock on door and HP peeked in said meekly: “Arnav bhaiya, woh Badi Bhabhi called everyone for dinner.”

Arnav nodded saying: “Thank you HP, tum jao hum aa rahe hai.”

HP left nodding and Arnav asked Aman to take the files, wrapping up all made way for dinner. Coming to living room Arnav saw Khushi setting table with OP and seeing them she smiled at him and asking OP to step the plates, made her way to his side and Lavanya left to dinner table seeing Khushi approaching making a soar face the way ASR wrapped his arm around her shoulder. Aman smilingly said: “So, I’ll take a leave now ASR.”

Khushi: "How can you leave like this Aman, dinner you to do with us.”

Aman: “No Bhabhi please I’ll leave now.”

Khushi: “No, I won’t listen to any excuse and you call me Bhabhi right. So you can’t refuse me...dinner with us and now come on.”

She started dragging Aman to dinner table as smiling Arnav followed with a sober Akash. Reaching dinner table Khushi pointed Aman to sit who finally bend in front of lovely Bhabhi as he took seat and Akash also sat down. Arnav sat on his usual seat as Khushi started serving him as she piled his plate and then served Aman’s plate giving him a sweet smile and moved to serve Akash also as rest of the family was already seated and having their food and Payal was busy serving her Mother-In-Law. Arnav motioned Khushi to sit down also who smilingly shook her head taking seat beside Arnav and served herself as she looked at Arnav taking the first bite and seeing the expression on his face, she felt relieved that her efforts were paid off.

Everyone had their fingers licking having dinner, as Khushi motioned OP and HP to bring the deserts for everyone. They served everyone and HP served Arnav sugar free once which Khushi had told him as Arnav happily devoured his sugar free delights knowing his wife to take care of his every need. Manorama was extremely delighted to see so many varieties of desert being served as she happily took bite of channar payesh moaned at the yummy delight asked: “HP bhat is the reason for itna yummy khana? Ek dam king istyle, five star hotel chefs. What ijj this all called huh? Bahut hi tastjj hai, Hello ho bye-bye!” (HP what is the reason for so yummy food today? Full on royal style like five star hotel chefs. What is all this called huh? It’s very tay, Hello hi bye-bye!)

NK: “Yeah HP this is so good. What is it?” as he took another bite of sandesh.

HP: “Maamiji, NK bhaiyya, khana Badi Bhabhi ne banaya hai, toh unse hi puchiye.” (Maamiji Badi Bhabhi made the food, so ask her.)

All looked at Khushi astonished second time in same day at her cutlery skill and she just smiled politely, not knowing what to say. Aman happily complimented: “Wow! Bhabhi this was the best dinner I had...Aapke hatho mein na jadoo hai, sachi!” (Wow! Bhabhi this was the best dinner I had...You’ve magic in your hands, really!)

Khushi blushed saying: “Thank you, Aman and I’m happy you liked it.”
Aman: “By the way, what were these dishes?”

NK too asked curious: “Yes Khushiji, what were these dishes? I know for one they weren’t Lucknowi food.”

Khushi smilingly replied: “Yeah it wasn’t Lucknowi food because it is authentic Bengali cuisine.”

Everyone was surprised and Mami asked again: “Bengali dishes?”

Khushi nodded in yes as all were shocked and most shocked was Payal who stammered asking: “Khushi, you...you know...ho-how to cook Bengali dishes?”

Khushi replied: “Haan Jiji”

Payal felt beyond shock not knowing what to say and Nani questioned curiously: “How do you know cooking Bengali dishes Khushi?”

Khushi simply replied: “Because I’m a Bengali”

Akash quietly questioned: "But how can you be Bengali Khushiji. You’re Lucknowi right?”

Khushi: “No, I’m a Bengali and Guptas’ are Lucknowi.”

NK scratching his head confused asked: “I don’t understand how you can be Bengali and Gupta family Lucknowi?”

Khushi smiled a little answering: “That is because Gupta’s are from my Mumma’s side of relative who was Lucknowi but my dad and his family were Bengali, tai ami Bangali.” (That is because Gupta’s are from my Mumma’s side of relative who was Lucknowi but my dad and his family were Bengali, that’s why I’m Bengali.)

All were surprised at the little revelation of Khushi’s past and Payal felt herself going pale at the these revelation wondered what are more were they unknown about Khushi from. Aman asked: “So what were all these dishes we ate and the once we’re eating?”

Khushi: “Well these are authentic Bengali dishes. For starters were vegetable chop, it is a kind of cutlet or pakkora you can say made of vegetables and bread-crumb and fish cutlets, served with freshly made spice tangy tomato chutney. Then main course starting with, ‘Baigun Bhajja’, pan fried eggplants, sizzling with aromatic. Than ‘Chor Chori’, a vegetarian delight...chor chori is a fresh mix of vegetables like potatoes, brinjal, cauliflower and pumpkin flavoured with the famous 'panch phoron', then ‘Dimer Dhokkar Dalna’, a common Bengali dish of steamed cakes made with eggs, potatoes and spices and simmered in an aromatic curry. ‘Bhapaa Aloo’, the humble potato tossed in local flavours of panch phoron, coconut paste and mustard oil. Simple yet satisfying! After that ‘Chingri Malai Curry’, palatable prawns are cooked in hot spices and then bathed in the creamy flavour of coconut milk. ‘Chingri’ refers to the river prawns. Than ‘Sorsebata Ilish Mach’, ‘Hilsa’ fish is the highlight of the local cuisine. The fish is marinated with turmeric and delicately simmered in a mustard-poppy seed paste along with the five-spice mix (panch phoron) ‘Doi Maach’, tender chunks of fish are cooked in the soothing flavour of yogurt along with mild spices. It tastes best when served with plain rice. Then there was ‘Kosha Mangsho’, a chicken preparation with spices and it tastes awesome with luchi that is puri you say Hindi and with biryani rice. ‘Bengali Chicken Curry’, chicken marinated in the comforting flavour of yogurt and cooked in mustard oil along with mustard seeds, almonds and castor sugar that adds a sweet undertone. In desert first is ‘Patishapta’, a Bengali dessert prepared in the form of thin crepes stuffed with a delicious coconut and jaggery filling. Then ‘Sandesh’, Bengali desserts are great charmers with chenna or fresh cottage cheese as one of the primary ingredients in most of them. After it is ‘Channer payesh’, a type of kheer made with mike and chenna. Then is ‘Mishti doi’ or the sweet curd and lastly the most famous Bengali sweet ‘Rosogulla’ which famously everyone know as rasgulla also” smiling sweetly as she finished giving the detailed menu chat.

The family were astonished looking at Khushi while Arnav felt his chest puff with pride as he relished taking another bite of the sweet curd. Nani was also very amazed especially hearing the whole menu of dinner from Khushi; she knew how much effort it takes to make food for so many people and Khushi single handily made everything is very impressive but she has something to ask: “Khushi, why did you took so much trouble of making dinner...that too alone? You could have simply instructed or asked HP and OP to make?”

Khushi politely replied: “My Thaami used to say that if bahus are there, than it doesn’t look nice servants cook. As a bahu of the house it’s their responsibility to cook for the family, that’s how I was taught...aur iss ghar mein do nayi bahu aagai hai, it doesn’t look nice letting Hpji or OPji cook and as Jiji was busy I took the dinner cooking responsibility.”

Her answer made Nani very impress, she knew at that moment that Khushi is going to be a perfect bahu...perfect elder bahu of the house who could manage the household expertly. But didn’t show on face as she turned to question Payal: “What were you doing Payal at that time?”

Payal hesitantly replied: “Woh...woh I was with Maaji...”

Nani softly yet with authority said: “Payal, I understand that Manorama is your Saasumaa and you wanna impress her. But don’t forget you’re not only Manorama’s Daughter-In-Law but of this house also and you have some responsibilities towards it, you can’t only keep running after your Mother-In-Law leaving everything...you should have helped Khushi in making dinner. I’m not scolding you. I’m just saying you’ve some responsibilities towards this house and you can’t neglect those, you’ve to fulfil your duties as Bahu of this house too.”

Payal who was red with embarrassment nodded lowering her head, not knowing what else to do. Everyone having finished their deserts got up from dining table. Nani went to her room calling a night, Manohar and Manorama with another bowl of Rasgulla went to their room saying good night, Akash went to take a stroll outside. Arnav said to Khushi who was clearing the table with HP that he would see off Aman and went to Aman who said Khushi a thank you for the dinner and bid good night, walking with Arnav to door. Lavanya, Anjali and Shyam sat in on corner of lounge area almost hidden from view, silently conversing and watching Khushi with watchful eyes.

Payal came saying to Khushi: “Khushi tum rahne do, I’ll take care of it.”

Khushi asked doubtful: “Are you sure? I’ll take care of it, no problem”

Payal: “Haan haan, bilkul and you can you go”

Khushi nodded and went to wash her hands before going to her room, while Payal looking at her retreating back thought: “Dadiji said so much to me at dinner in front of everyone and more because of you Khushi, I know what are you trying...you want to show yourself as perfect bahu to get everyone acceptance.” Shaking the thoughts she got in post-dinner clean up with HP and Op helping her.

Khushi was making her way to go upstairs when she was lifted in strong muscular arms which made her giggle and Arnav gave her a mischievous smile, pecked her lips said huskily: “Ab tumhe kon bachayega muhjse, Mishti?” (Now who will save you from me, Mishti?)

Khushi swatted him lovingly blushed: “Badmaash!” (Naughty!)

She hid her face in his chest as Arnav smiled amused at her endearing antics and carried his precious giggling bundle of happiness to their room to love her up like no one else. But what the two love-birds missed to see was, the three pair of eyes watching them, definitely not with good intentions.

Shyam who was very pissed of seeing Khushi in Arnav’s arms said angrily: “Dekha Rani Sahiba, I told you Arnav doesn’t care for you anymore...not once he asked for you.  Before marriage he always personally looked after your needs and now...shaadi to do din nahi huye aur aapko bhool bhi gaye. Aapko ek ‘Good Night’ tak bhi nahi bola... saath beth kaar baat karna toh bhool jayiye.” (See Rani Sahiba, I told you Arnav doesn’t care for you anymore...not once he asked for you.  Before marriage he always personally looked after your needs and now...it’s not even 02 days he got married and has totally forgotten you. He didn’t even come to say you good night...forget that he didn’t even see you seating here.)

Lavanya: “Di dekha, how is she taking ASR away from us? We need to do something; if I had married ASR I would’ve never done this.”

Anjali: “For Chotte I’ve always been first priority and no one can replace me in his life, we definitely need to do something about this Khushi!”

Lavanya: “But what Di?”

Anjali: “Desperate time needs desperate measure. I’ve a plan; listen you have to do is...”

As Anjali explained her plan to Lavanya and Shyam was grinning evilly in his head thinking: “Now where will you go Khushiji, at the end you have to come to me.”

What these three don’t understand was it’s not that easy to break Arnav-Khushi apart, they are two halves of one soul and no one can separate them....not even his Di, because ASR would burn down the world who even dared to take his Mishti away from him.
