ARSHI FF: Gustakh Dil... (Stubborn Heart)

Chapter 20(A): “Ishq mein...”

[Bengali conversation is used, translation is given in (italics)]

“And I'll be gone, gone tonight
The ground beneath my feet is open wide
The way that I've been holdin' on too tight
With nothing in between”

                                           - ‘Story of My Life’, One Direction

HP asked politely: “Ji, aap logo ko kise milna hai?” to the unknown elder couple. (Yes, who do you want to meet?)

The elder man in suit who had a big gift in hand questioned in: “Titli hai?” his voice pleasant and polite but still held an undertone of authority. (Is Titli here?)

HP frowned in confusion: “Titli..? Ji yaha koi titli nahi rahta...” wondering why would a butterfly be living in this house and anybody come asking about it. (Titli..? There is no titli living here...)

The elder man asked back: “This is Raizada residence, right...Arnav Singh Raizada’s house?”

HP replied politely: “Yes, this is Arnav Singh Raizada’s house but there is no titli here.” feeling confused as to why was this man asking about a butterfly living in this house.

Just then from behind came Arnav’s voice asking: “HP, who is it?” from the living room.

HP answered looking over his shoulder towards living room: “Don’t know Arnav Bhaiyya but they asking for ‘Titli’...” then turned around to look back at the couple on the door.

Hearing HP, Khushi mumbles: “Hum se milne kon aaya hai...” then got and called out louder, “HP who is it?” walking towards the door with Arnav following after her as they walked towards the door.

HP stepped aside revealing the elderly couple and Khushi stop in her tracks and her face a perfect picture of three O’s in shock as she stood there like statue staring at the couple, blinking in disbelieve. Seeing Khushi the elderly couple smiled at her affectionately with eyes glittering with unshed tears, the elderly man says: “Surprise!” opening his arms.

RISHI AND GAYATRI MUKHERJEE

Khushi seems to snap out of whatever daze she was in: “AAHHHHHH RISHIIIII!!” literally screaming out loud she ran and tackling the elderly man in a tight hug who also hugged her back almost lifting her off her feet.

Much to everyone shock, Khushi tightened her arms around him and snuggled closer in the very familiar protective warm embrace she was back after a long time which made her start sobbing hard. Rishi patted her hair and softly mumbling sweet nothings in her ears: “Shhh Titli its okay...stop crying...” tries to stop her crying as he pulled back and wiped her tears softly.

Khushi somehow manages to stop crying and speaks: “I- I just... ami khub m- miss korechi to- tomake... I- I st- still can’t be- believe that you’re here... I- I told y- you... bolechilam ami, jayeo na... jayeo na amaye okhane eka chere... ki- kintu tumi chole gale... Kano chole gale Rishi? Amaye kano sa- saathe niye gale na..? Ato kha- kharab ami je ek- eka chere cho- chole gale?” she was a complete blabbering mess in-between her little sniffs and hiccups. (I- I just... I m- missed you so much... I- I st- still can’t be- believe that you’re here... I- I told y- you... I told you, don’t leave... don’t leave me there alone... bu- but you left... Why did you leave Rishi? Why di- didn’t you take m- me with you..? Was I that ba- bad that you le- left me a- alone?)

Rishi side hugged her again as he consoled her: “I’m sorry... so very sorry for leaving you there, ami toke chare ashte chai ni kintu amar kichu korar chilo na... Tui toh amar shona may, tui kharab hobe kano... ke bolo toke tui kharab..? Shhh ashe gachi ami, r jabo na toke chere... It’s okay Titli.” rubbing her back in comforting gesture to calm her. (I’m sorry... so very sorry for leaving you there, I didn’t want to leave you but I didn’t have any other option... You’re my sweet girl, why would you be b ad... who told that you’re bad..? Shhh I’m here now, I’m not going anywhere leaving you... It’s okay Titli.)

At this moment Khushi reminded Rishi of the scared little 10 years old girl she was when Gupta family took her away from everything, she knew making him hug her close more protectively. Over the last 12-13 years after Gupta family took Khushi under their wing they had tried to cut her off completely from anyone related to her father’s family. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t kept an eye on her all these years, Rishi kept a watch on Khushi and even met her once or twice in a year unknown to the Gupta family. Over the years every time she had seen him first time or when he had to leave, she would cry like this, wanting to him to take her with him and he felt so helpless, this is why he’ll always hate Guptas’.

Khushi calmed down considerably much but still hugging Rishi tight as if she let goes off him and he’ll leave again. The elderly lady shed few tears seeing Khushi so emotional and she wiped her tears quickly, says in fake sad tone: “Acha Titli tor Rishi ke dekhe, tor G-maa ke bhoole gali..?” making the pair turn their heads towards her. (So Titli getting your Rishi, you forgot your G-maa..?)

Khushi pulled out of the elder man’s arms and went to tackle the lady in hug exclaiming: “G-maa!! I missed you soooo much...”

The elderly lady hugged her back and pulled back a little: “Haan haan dekhlam koto amaye miss korecho...” she said moodily. (Yes yes I saw exactly how much you missed me...)

Khushi coo-ed: “Aww G-maa, don’t get upset now...you know I love you soooo much, my sweet sweet G-maa...” as she hugged her back trying to pacify her.

Rishi comments teasingly: “Come on Gayatri; don’t get jealous now just cause I’m Titli’s favorite...” this earned him a playful swat from Khushi as she hugged Gayatri more.

Gayatri shook her head not being able to fake anger anymore seeing her Titli’s cuteness: “You just know the right ways to melt hearts Titli...” as she caressed Khushi’s face lovingly, “You’ve grown up so much from the last time I had seen you which was like after you finished high school and looking through college options for admission...which happened like 06 years ago or something. It’s so nice that I finally see you in front of me... Mera bacha!” she kissed Khushi’s forehead almost crying out of happiness of finally seeing her after so long.

Khushi sniffs almost whining: “G-maa you’re going to make me cry again...” as she hugged the lady who just patted her head with motherly affection.

The three of them were so busy in their little reunion that they didn’t notice the rest of the audience watching them with varied emotions. In one hand the Raizada family was confused about the new entries while the Gupta ladies recognized them well enough and to say they were shocked would be an understatement. Arnav was softly smiling seeing Khushi so happy at that moment seeing the people who she literally considered family and he could just see how much these people love her.

He walked up to them and spoke with amused smile: “Biwi are you just want to keep them standing at the door, monopolizing them or get them inside and introduce to all?” making them turns their attention to him.

Khushi pulled away from her G-maa’s embrace and to look at her husband: “I’m turning so manner less...” face palming at her lack of manners.

Arnav smiled at her assuring: “That’s okay; I’m here to remind you...” moving towards the two new people to welcome them.

He bent to Gayatri’s touch feet and she blessed him, kissing his forehead giving a motherly-affectionate smile: “Jeete raho beta, how are you...?”

Arnav replied standing up straight: “Fine auntie, how are you all..?” giving her a charming smile.

Gayatri: “I’m fine and even better after seeing my Titli and meeting her Arnav...also call me G-maa like Titli does.” patting his cheek lightly.

Arnav: “Yes G-maa...” giving her smile and move to touch Rishi’s feet to take his blessing.

Rishi blessed him: “Jeete raho...” received a smile from Arnav as he straightened and inquired, “I hope you’re taking care of my Titli good?”

Arnav replied: “Now you’re here, so ask yourself if I’m taking care of her or not...” giving his award-winning smile.

Rishi laughed patting his back: “I like you already, young man.” then turning to Khushi said to her, “Titli he is just as charming and gentleman as you said he’ll be, you found yourself better man than we could’ve ever find for you. One in a million is your Arnav like you’re.”

Khushi moved besides Arnav hold his arm with a smile: “I told you Rishi, my Arnav is a gem.” and gave Arnav a dazzling-dimple smile looking up at him feeling him sneak his arm around her waist pulling her close to his side smiling at her in return looking down at her.

Shock would be a huge understatement to say about the others watching Arnav being so free and he willingly seek blessing from someone as he doesn’t like to socialize much. The Gupta ladies definitely weren’t pleased first with Arnav-Khushi treated them and now these new guests who could actually reveal a lot of their unwanted secrets.

Khushi turned to look at the family chirpily: “Rishi, G-maa let me introduce with my in-laws... this is Arnav’s Nani - Devyani Raizada, Mamaji – Manohar Raizada, Mamiji – Manorama Raizada, Arnav’s cousin and Mamaji-Mamiji’s son – Akash Singh Raizada but he is not at home now, Akash’s wife – Payal Raizada, that is Nandkishore Mehra aka NK – Mamiji’s sister son and he is from Sydney, the lady standing beside him is Lavanya Kashyap, she works in AR and I guess is sort of family friend now. And last but not the least, Mrs. Garima Gupta and Mrs. Madhumati Mishra, you remember them of course I guess.” as she towards respective while speaking, “And people meet Mr. Rishi Mukherjee, my Rishi and his wife Mrs. Gayatri Rishi Mukherjee, my G-maa...they’re like my surrogate parents.”

Nani coming out of her daze, smiled at the guests: “Aap logo se mil ke acha laga.” (It’s good to meet you.)

Arnav: “Okay let’s take further conversations inside.” and agreeing with him all made way to living room.

Finding a place to sit in the spacious living room couches, everyone took a seat and Khushi had asked HP to bring water for the guests than turned to ask: “Rishi, G-maa how come you guys here..? I mean didn’t you just called a while ago saying that you weren’t going to make any time soon..?”

Rishi replied: “We wanted to surprise and when I called you, we were on the way to here.”

Khushi narrowed her eyes accusingly: “You lied to me than but since I’m so happy to see you here, I forgive you.” as she smiled brightly at the pair showing just how much happy she is but sternly added, “But do that again and you’ll face my wrath.” scowling like an angry kitten which made Arnav chuckle fondly as he kissed her red cheek.

Rishi chuckled at the angry kitten and raised his hands up in mock surrender: “Understood, don’t want to face the wrath of yours now, do we?”

She narrowed her eyes at him: “But just because I’m not angry, doesn’t mean I’m not upset with you... I’m very upset with you Rishi.” her displeasure clearly visible on her face turning other side.

He nods seriously: “Hmmm now this is serious, how can I let my Titli be upset with me...have to do something now...” going thoughtful and then he pulls out big four chocolate bars, holding them out, “Will this make Titli being not upset?”

Khushi glances sideways towards him and seeing the chocolates in his hand smiles big as she snatched out of his hands exclaiming: “CADBURY SILK OREO!! You know I love this so much... YOU’RE THE BEST RISHI!!” as she hugged him smiling like an excited kid as she bounced back to her seat and immediately opening one of the chocolates.

Gayatri just shook her head fondly at the interaction and turned to Arnav when he questioned her: “So G-maa how was your flight?”

She smiled replying: “It was good, we landed on time.”

He nodded and Nani asked: “So how are you related to Khushi bitya..?” wanting to know more about the guests.

Gayatri and Rishi turned their attention at the elderly woman’s question and Rishi answered: “I was Khushi’s Dad, Aditya’s best friend; in fact, our families were friends since forever. Then when we were in collage Adi met Kashish while Gayatri and I knew each other already through. I met Kashish later when Adi befriended her even though Gayatri was best friends with her since Kashish joined college.” smiling feeling little nostalgic.

Nani nodded understandingly: “Oh, what do you do Rishi beta, businessman?”

Rishi replies: “I’m in business yes but I won’t call myself businessman, actually I’m legal advocate and I’m legal advisor of RC Empire. Though I was Aditya’s business partner in his company but I mostly handled...or rather still handle the legal matters of business.”

Now curious of the conversation Anjali pipes in: “RC Empire? Aditya’s company…? Aditya as in Khushi’s father...her dad was a businessman?”

Rishi was about to answer but was interrupted with another voice from behind: “I’m home Rani Sahiba, where are you?” followed by Shyam walking in the living room followed by Akash who also came home from office.

They noticed the all the guests and greeted the Gupta ladies while looked at the new faces curiously, Akash was the one to ask out loud: “Who are they?” pointing towards the elderly couple and looking at the family for answer.

Arnav answered: “They’re Khushi’s family, Mr. Rishi Mukherjee and his wife Gayatri.” then introduced the elderly couple, “Uncle, G-maa this is Akash, my cousin and Shyam Manohar Jha, my Di’s husband.” as greetings were exchanged and they too joined the conversation.

Rishi turned back to Anjali to answer her previous question: “So as I was about to say, RC Empire as in Raichodhary Empire and yes one of RC Empire’s businesses was the RC Constructions which was Adi’s company.”

Anjali raised an eyebrow questioningly: “One of the businesses?”

Rishi nodded indulgently: “Yes one of the businesses, RC Empire has any successful ventures in many sectors and is one of the very successful multi-billion international empires.”

Everyone was wide-eyes knowing this because as per what the man said then Khushi is heiress of a multi-billion empire which was quite hard to believe for them. Arnav wasn’t much surprise as he knew about his wife’s family legacy, not that it matters but he just loved to know everything about his Mishti.

Snapping out of the shock Lavanya was first to react as she scoffs: “Yeah right! And you really expect us to believe this?”

Arnav was about to snap at her for such comment but before he could, Rishi frowning: “And why does it seem so unbelievable to you?”

Lavanya snots: “You really want us to believe that a middle-class behanji like Chamkeli is to actually be a billionaire heiress...?” her tone showing just how much it seemed ridiculous it was to her.

This sort of statement made by Lavanya wasn’t definitely liked by Rishi, Gayatri and Arnav also first to snap: “MIND YOU LANGUAGE!”

Also, Gayatri scolded: “Jealousy is not becoming young lady.”

Followed by Rishi who was visibly fuming says rudely: “First of all don’t ever call Titli with any of those names or I’ll personally sue you for abusing her name, likeness and reputation...trust me you can’t win against me. Secondly, you don’t have any idea about what or whom you’re talking and do yourself a favour and shut up!!”

Lavanya almost shrieked in her seat with all the threatening glares send her way visibly gulping in fear. Nani also scolding her: “Ms. Kashyap stop making such comments about Khushi, we know you don’t like her but that doesn’t give you the right to insult her.” clearly irritated by the behavior of her.

Seeing the situation getting quite tense NK decided to break the ice as he asked: “Mr. Mukherjee, you said that you were friends with Khushiji’s parents...so do you’ve any picture of them? Actually, we never saw any picture or anything of them.”

Now the attention shifted on him and some felt relief that tension is being broke. Rishi nodded giving a friendly smile to the curious lad: “I’ve, want to see?”

NK eagerly nodded his head: “Yes please...” grinning excitedly also others were curious too.

Rishi pulled out his tablet from his coat pocket and opening the lock, he scrolls through photo-gallery. Finding the photo, he was searching for and then passing it NK who eagerly took it from as his eager eyes scanned the digital screen. As soon as the tab was in NK’s hand he was crowded by curious Anjali, Lavanya, Mamiji, Akash, Shyam and Payal to see the photo. They all stared at the screen wide-eyed at the photo of the beautiful young couple, the lady was simply gorgeous if put in plain words besides her was a handsome man having cute dimple smile as they both smiling wrapped in each other’s arms.

ADITYA AND KASHISH (Khushi's Parents)

NK gave a low whistle: “Whoa Khushiji, your mom was so beautiful and gorgeous that I might have hit on her had I got the chance to meet her in real.” still mesmerized by the beauty of Kashish and so were Shyam and Akash.

Payal agrees with NK: “Main suna tha humesha that Kashish Maasi was very beautiful but I never knew Mausaji was this handsome, I totally get why she married him against everyone’s wish.”

Lavanya comments: “Man isn’t he a tall glass of drink or what...”

Even the ever-sanskari Anjali muttered: “And that killer smile with dimples, kaatil meri jaan...kaatil!” totally drooling along with Lavanya.

Khushi looked up from eating her chocolate at them amusedly, she knows that her parents were very good-looking and she clearly got her looks from them. But their reactions seeing the photo of her parents was truly funny and seems like Rishi and Gayatri too found it same.

Whereas Arnav made a disturbed face at the reactions and comments, rebukes them: “What the! First off, stop drooling over them it’s highly disturbing... Payal you do realize that’s your Uncle you made the comment.”

Payal shrugs: “But it’s true and besides this the first time I’m actually seeing a photo of them as we don’t have any at home...so yeah I can’t help it!”

Arnav rolled his eyes at her turning on others: “NK stop making such statement, it’s my mother-in-law you’re talking about. And you too Lavanya, that’s my father-in-law have some respect. Jesus, even Akash and Di too, what the! You know what, I'm going to ignore what you just said and pretend that none of such comments were made, hoping none of you never speak like that ever again. That was dark, even for NK’s standard...” shivering in disgust as he shook his head to get rid of those comments.

Seeing Arnav’s reaction Khushi giggled a little while Nani asked NK to show her who handed the tab obediently. Nani, Mamaji and Maami looked at the photo and seemed to agree with the youngsters about the gorgeous couple.

Nani says: “Khushi bitya, you seem to have your mother’s eyes and your father’s smile.” as she handed Rishi the tab back.

Khushi politely: “Thank you Naniji.” smiling an identical dimple smile of her Dad’s.

Nani nodded and then asked: “What did Payal bitya said about mother marrying your father against everyone’s wish.”

Gayatri replied to this: “Actually Kashish’s family were against her marrying Adi as it would be love marriage also the fact that he was Bengali while they were Lucknowie. Through Adi’s family were very open-minded and accepted Kashish with open arms...they married against her family’s wish mostly her father because Kashish’s mother was supportive.”

Manorama snickered: “Lagat hai full phamily mein bhaag ke shaadi karne ka tradition hai, hello hi bye-bye!” (Looks like runway marriages are family traditions, hello hi bye-bye!)

Nani scolded her: “Manorama, chup karo!” then with apologetic expression says, “Don’t mind her, she just blabbers out whatever comes in her mind without much thought.”

Gayatri simply shrugged it off while Rishi too said casually brushing it off: “No it’s okay though it is sort of true that love marriages are sort of tradition in Raichodhary family. Actually, they never minded anything other than the happiness of their children and as long as they had someone good as their life partner, they overlooked other factors.”

Manohar says indulgently: “That’s very thoughtful of them, anyways how Khushi’s parents met and got married? I’ve to say I’m curious to know more about Khushi bitya’s real family because to really think about it, we hardly know anything about them...in fact we got to know the names of Khushi bitya’s real parents just a few days ago.”

Rishi nods understandingly and speaks carefully: “I understand what you mean; the Gupta’s or anyone from Kashish’s side has disowned her and never liked to even mention her. That’s why it makes us wonder why the Gupta’s did even take Titli in when they all clearly disliked her so much, it wasn’t as if she didn’t have anyone to take her. It was also clear that they weren’t too excited to take her but still they did...why?” glancing at Garima and Buaji with thoughtful look on his face but he snaps out of its moments later. He continues saying more cheerfully, “Well Adi and Kashish’s love story was really something...man it took so much pushing Adi to finally get the courage and man up to talk to Kashish...”

Gayatri giggles remembering that: “Oh yeah and that was also our set-up so that Adi at least talks to Kashish instead of crushing over her from a far like he was doing for two months since Kashish joined collage...” reminiscing that day like it had happened just yesterday.

----FLASHBACK----

Kashish: "Gayu, where were you? I've been waiting for 30 minutes now..." questions her friend who was supposed to have arrived 45 mins ago but was late and kept her waiting in front of halls.

Gayatri smiles carefully at her angrily friend replied: "Hey Kashish, I'm going to going to Rishi’s football practice with him."

Kashish groans almost banging her head on the wall nearby: “Why?! You're supposed to be showing me around girl." she spats crossing her arms, ignoring the strange looks they were getting from people.

Gayatri apologetically: "I'm sorry but he’s going to take me out for lunch afterwards, maybe you can ask someone else to show you around?"

She whines: "I don't know anyone else Gayu, it's only been two months especially since I can’t communicate much with people here."

Gayatri suggests: "How about Neetu?"

Kashish huffs says: "You know very well that Neetu can’t speak a proper sentence in Hindi nor do I know Bengali though we both sort of understand, we still can’t communicate without you as mediator between us.”

Gayatri nods understandingly then brightens up: "Maybe you can use your map? That'll help, look I’ve to go Ash I'll see you later."

Kashish angrily: "You don't know how much hatred for you is building up right now!"

Gayatri waves her off causally: "Yeah I love you too cutie-pie" and happily ran away in the direction of football field.

Kashish angrily stomps her foot and pouts looking around the building then pulled out the map from her bag: "Alright Kashish, time to get lost..." opening the map mumbles to herself before beginning to follow the map.

After a few minutes of going up the steps and getting through the hallways she's almost to the library or so she thinks. Kashish brushes the hair out of her eyes staring at the red line which she was supposed to be following: "Okay I'm here...” exclaims looking up to find the fire escape, "You've got to be kidding me!" she turns the other way in hopes of finding the right way or at least someone to help her grumbling, "Chose the wrong university girl..." pouting as she continues walking, her eyes glued onto the map.

Everything was fine until she suddenly ended on the floor groaning and notices her books and notes on the ground. She quickly goes to pick them up only to be head butted by the stranger she ran into, "Bloody hell!" the stranger hisses rubbing his forehead.

Kashish says rubbing her head: “Hume maaf kar dijiye, humne aapko dekha nahi.” probably messing up her hair and hasn’t yet taken a good look at the stranger yet. (I'm sorry, I didn't see you.)

The strange guy replies: “Theek hai, mujhe aapko rokna chahiye tha.” (It's alright, I should've stopped you.)

Hearing someone speak in Hindi Kashish picks her books up and notices a hand in front of her. She quickly takes it as the strong stranger helps her up: "Thank you" says looking up at the man. Her jaw almost drops, who was this beautiful sculpted lumber jack of a man? Damn he is mighty fine but quickly snapped out of such thoughts mentally slapping herself for even having it in the first place.

The handsome stranger has head filled with wavy jet black hai and has the cutest smile with adorable dimples, his bright brown eyes that reminded her of a puppy also his specs making him all the cuter. The stranger speaks: “Hi I’m Adi, Aditya Raichodhary. What's your name?" still holding onto her hand.

Kashish replies almost stumbling over her words: "Uh Kashish... Kashish Sharma, nice to meet you Adi." her cheeks turn red.

Adi asks: "Are you lost?"

She frowns: "How'd you know? Are you a physic?" clutching on her books.

He chuckles: "I saw your map.” says plucking at the map in between her books.

She simply responded: "Oh" blushing embarrassingly added, "Yeah, my friend was supposed to show me around but she ditched me to watch her boyfriend kicking a ball around." pouting as she remembered how Gayu ditched her last minute.

Seeing her Adi bites back a smile and offers: "I could help you if you want, I know this place pretty well..."

Kashish smiles excitingly: "Really, you'd do that? This map is totally stupid and doesn’t get me anywhere.” says honestly making him laugh.

Adi opens the door to the outside: "Of course, we can’t have a gorgeous lady like you getting lost." he says making Kashish blush prettily.

But then his words register her mind and her smile drops as she questions: "Did you call me just call me gorgeous?"

Adi shrugs smiling unsurely: "Is that ok?"

Kashish flips her long chestnut hair like a diva: "It's more than ok, about time someone noticed my beauty." jokes doing a look over the shoulder pose making Adi laugh at her antics.

.......

Adi asks: "So are you new here? You don’t seem Bengali to me...kaha se ho tum?" as they walked outside around the fountain nearby.

They had finished the tour and stopped at the cafe near the library for a snack. Now Adi was walking Kashish back to her dorm because he insisted that he should make sure she got to her dorm safely.

She replies: “I’m from Lucknow and I came here as Architecture Engineering student on scholarship. It’s been only two month and I can hardly communicate with other students because not much people know Hindi and I’m starting to understand but can hardly speak Bengali. Though I’m learning to from my best and only friend here who is a Bengali but knows Hindi and helps me most the time. What about you...what are you doing?” she asked looking at him.

Adi answered: “Well I’m doing Architecture Engineering major along with Business Management; in fact, I’m in quite number of classes. Though my family has established business but I want to start my own business...I’m going to my own Construction company after I get my degrees.” giving her a slight smile.

She nods in understanding: “That’s really good; I hope you get all the success you wish for and really I never noticed you in class earlier...”

He smiles looking down: “You’re always busy with taking notes or chatting up with Gayatri to look around. And just so you know I’m Rishi’s best friend who is apparently your best friend’s boyfriend...well we reached your hostel.” pointing towards hotel gates in front of them.

They came to stop in front of the gates and she looked up at the gates then back at him: “So thank you so much for your help today, I’ll see you tomorrow in class I guess.”

Adi gave her a smile and after they said goodbyes, she walked through the gates going inside the hostel. She was about to go inside the building but turned back to look at him one last time and giving him a smile and waving a little walked inside while he stood grinning happily.

......

Adi jumped out of his car after parking it in the drive-way in front of his mansion and happily ran towards Gayatri and Rishi who were hanging out in the front lawn along with his elder brothers and their fiancés. He grabbed Gayatri in a tight hug jumping as he screamed: “Thank you... thank you...thank you, you’re the best Gayu!!”

Gayatri chuckles pulling back teasingly saying: “Dhore nichi je bhalo hoyeche.” (I’m guessing it went good then.)

Adi nodded his head replying: “It went better than good...” as he seemed to be buzzing with excitement, “Kacher theke aro sundor laage oke.” sighing dreamily. (She is more beautiful from up-close.)

They all laugh at his love-struck expression and his elder brother, Abhay says: “Chotto bhai tui toh preme habudubu khachesh.” (Little brother you’re drowning in love.)

ABHAY RAICHOUDHARY

His second brother also his first cousin, Arko: “Kobe dekha korabi tor Sundori-er saathe?” wiggling his eyebrows funnily. (When are you introducing us to your Beautiful?)

Adi looks at his weird family, replies: “Not any time soon.” giving them a look.

Piya, Abhay’s fiancé: “Kano?” almost whining. (Why?)

PIYA

Adi simply said: “Because you guys would scare her away before I even get a chance to woo her... so no, not unless I get her fall in love with me too, I’m not letting any of you meet her.”

Rishi pipes in: “But you’ll let me meet her right, after all I’m your best friend.” giving her a puppy-face.

Ishita, fiancé of Arko, snicker: “Then she’ll definitely run away before Adi gets chance to befriend her, let alone woo her.”  her fiancé joined laughing with her.

ARKO RAICHOUDHARY AND ISHITA

Rishi starts complaining: “But Gayu gets to meet her but we don’t and that’s not fair!”

Adi firmly tells them: “Gayu is her best friend and I know you all want to meet her but let me get this straight, none of you get to meet Kashish until and unless I make her fall in love with me.” giving them a look that he isn’t bluffing.

At his answer they all pouted like bunch of sulking toddlers while Adi just rolled his eyes at them, turned around to go inside the house, to his room and dream some more about his Dream-girl.
